Bigfoot in the News…Ohio Hunters…

McARTHUR, Ohio A man who has been searching for the legendary ‘ Bigfoot ‘ in southern Ohio says he has found new evidence that several of the elusive creatures may be living in the area.

Robert Gardnier of Columbus, Ohio, said he and several other hunters went into the Wayne National Forest west of McArthur recently and found footprints measuring 17 ? inches long and 9 inches wide.

Gardiner, who described the creatures as being ‘very shy,’ said he and his hunting party were surrounded by the creatures at one time.

‘We had been to this deserted A-frame … and were looking in this ravine for tracks and didn’t find anything,’ said Gardiner. ‘Later on … we came back to the A-frame and there were big tracks. These had to be made within an hour before we got there.’

He said the hunters went into the ravine where the visibility is limited because of dense woods, brush and brambles.

‘We were looking at a specific sign on a tree,’ he said. ‘We found something on a tree. I’m not going to divulge what it is, but we were checking it out and we heard one bark.

‘They have a barking-type growl like a chimpanzee or like a gorilla,’ he said. ‘We listened and then we heard one behind us, and what these two things were doing was communicating back and forth. They couldn’t have been over 25 or 30 yards away from us.

‘One was between us and the A-frame and the other was on the other side of us,’ he said.

Gaadiner said he feels the creatures are only passing through the area heading for mountains in the southern part of the United States. He said one may have been injured and that is why they are staying in the McArthur area for so long.

‘I’ve told everybody to quit shooting at these things,’ Gardiner said. ‘If you come across one, he won’t bother you. He’s just curious.’

Many hunters have tried to find the creature, also called Sasquatch , which is about as elusive as the Himalayan Yeti _ the ‘Abominable Snowman’ _ and supposedly comes from the Pacific Northwest.

Throughout the summer, Sasquatch -like creatures have been sighted and reported in southern and central Ohio.

Bigfoot reportedly was first sighted in Ohio near McArthur Aug. 24. Larry E. Cottrill said he found three Sasquatch -like animals near his home, shot at them and may have wounded one in the shoulder. Cottrill has since moved away.

Serenity and Lore of Cape Cod…

“Back in 1886, George Washington Ready, who was the town crier in Provincetown at the time, believed he saw a sea serpent.

Ready was walking near the shoreline in Provincetown when he observed a whirlpool-like disturbance in the water. A giant head with four rows of teeth, an eight-foot horn, and six eyes then emerged from the whirlpool. These eyes ensured the monster could look in every direction at once, and three of them were a fiery red color.

The rest of the monster’s body was about 300 feet long with a 12-foot diameter. It was accompanied by a sulphuric smell and an intense heat emanating from its body. The creature was massive, but Ready was able to hide behind some bushes on the beach to escape its gaze.

Ready claimed that the serpent made its way to nearby Pasture Pond before burrowing into the earth beneath the water. Much of the pond’s water drained through the hole the creature created, and the monster disappeared, as well.”

A little serenity and lore from Cape Cod. Just a little spot I carved out this morning for peace and coffee…

Glacial Grave…

“These glacial beauties

That came to rest by me

Have come from such a long journey

Through oceans and time

Here to rest eternal

I’ve come to feel like they are mine

I come to visit every day

Longer and longer I try to stay

I visit to hear their tale

They communicate it

In their own way

Their scars and dings

And the soil they bring

These amazing cairns

That balance without arms

This glacial grave

Awaiting me

As I touch with my hands

I begin to understand

The power of nature

And what it can do

And knowing these beautiful boulders of mine

May have been a seat and a place to reflect for many throughout history and time”

A little beauty from today..

Baby It’s Cold Outside…

I really can’t stay…(baby it’s cold outside)

I gotta go away…(baby it’s cold outside)

I was planning on doing a fluff piece on everyone’s favorite Yeti, Bumble. But thinking about Rudolph made me think on how they want to ban the program from airing on any major channels and exposing America’s children to bullying. And I was immediately frustrated. I’m not saying that Rudolph may not have a few hinky gray areas in it, but in no way will it warp anyone’s mind. I’m okay, I’ve watched it every year for forever and now I’m a Bumble enthusiast and blogger. See where it got me?

My mother will start to worry (beautiful what’s your hurry)

My father will be pacing the floor (listen to the fireplace roar)

Suffice it to say, Rudolph does have bullying, but bullying happens all over the world everyday, having some exposure that it and that it’s not okay and that you aren’t alone when your young is a good thing. And also for the children to see Rudolph rise above it. And really who better to tell the reindeers they were wrong then Santa! Every child’s hero. And also, I watched it when I was young too, I knew then that the other reindeer were wrong and I defended people my whole life against bullies, ask my family and they will tell you…Who knows, maybe I got that fire from the show. It also has the land of misfit toys. Shunned toys that weren’t perfect so they were sent to the island never to have love. But it also showed that those different toys deserved love and acceptance too, and that we have all types of differences. Those are both good life lessons to learn and If not from Rudolph and Santa then who?

So really I’d better scurry (Beautiful please don’t hurry)

Well maybe just a half of drink more (I’ll put some records on while I pour)

We all need to relax and take a deep breath. We need to take in account what era and climate something was written. Yes, there is a bunch of potentially politically incorrect programming out there. But it is our past and a sign of the times. Our history. We can’t wipe it all out. We need to learn something from our past.

The neighbors might think ( Baby it’s bad out there)

Say what’s in this drink (No cabs to be had out there

This evening has been… (been hoping that you’d drop in)

Say what’s in this drink (No cabs to be had out there)

As you can see the lyrics to one of the most sung holiday songs has been interjected throughout this post. That is because this song is also on the chopping block. They are saying it practically screams date rape. Now, no doubt Deano loved the ladies, (and his drinks) but not by force. Again, I implore you to remember the era it was  written in. The expression “what’s in this drink?”  Was said in response to being served a strong drink, not because a drug was slipped into it.

My father was a singer, and he sang this all the time and I loved hearing it. What about my fond memories? I just want to have a white Christmas with family and friends without a side of bullying please. I’m more concerned about the mental harm the song “I saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus” is doing to the little ones of the world. I remember being mad at my Mom over this annual indiscretion of hers. Please don’t take from this that I don’t care about America’s children or are insensitive to women’s issues. I am a women and was a teacher too, and I’m saying this for them, banning and hiding everything is not the answer. The bubble you put everyone in will pop eventually, and then what? They have been left with no exposure and coping skills for these issues. But this blog is just one girl’s opinion. My thoughts. And I thank you all for reading them even though you just wanted Bumble and Yukon Cornelius. (Without the soap box)..

Happy Holidays everyone…

REPORTS TELL OF CANADIAN MONSTER MEN

Settlers Fifty Miles From Vancouver Describe

Hairy Giants…

Sasquatch men, remnants of a lost race of “wild- men” who Inhabited the rooky regions of British Columbia centuries ago, are reported roaming the province again. After an absence of several months from the district of Harrlson Mills, 50 miles east of Vancouver, the long, wierd, wolf-like howls of the “wild men” are being heard again and two of the hairy monsters were reported seen In the Morris valley on the Harrison river. Residents In the district tell of seeing the two glants leaping and bounding out of the forest and striding across the duck feeding ground, wallowing now and again in the bog and mire and long, swaying swamp grass’.

Reported Agile as Goats. The strange men, it was reported, after emerging from the woods, came leaping down the Jagged rocky hillside with the agility and lightness of mountain goats. Snatches of their weird language floated on tho breeze across the lake to the pioneer settlement at the foot of the hills. The giants walked with an easy gait across the swamp flats and at the Morris Creek, in the shadow of Little Mystery Mountaln, straddled a finating log, which they propelled with their long, hairy hands and huge feet across the sluggish Glacial stream to the other side. There they abandoned the log and climbed hand over hand up the almost perpendicular cliff at a point known as Gibraltar and reappeared at the top of the ridge. They carried two large clubs and walked around a herd of cattle directly in their path.

Indian’s Story Retold…

The return of the giants to the legendary stronghold of the Sasquatch monsters recalls the narrow escape of an Indian at the same spot last March. A huge rock narrowly missed his canoe while he was fishing and looking up, he said he saw a huge and hairy monster stamping his feet and gesticulating wildly. The Indlan escaped by cutting his fishing tackle and paddling away. The same Indian declares two Sasquatch twice have stolen salmon which he tied outside his house out of reach of dogs. The latest appearance of the monsters was peaceful. They avoided the trails usually used by people of the valleyand molested neither cattle nor human beings.

People who have reported seeing the giants on their rare appearances described the men’s appearance as ferocious looking like wild men, nine feet tallu and covered from head to toes with thick black hair..

Werewolf Wednesday….

Zoanthropy is a psychiatric syndrome within which the patient has the delusional belief of turning into an animal.

A NEW YORK WEREWOLF.
Strange Delusion of a Man Who Crawls on all Fours.
NEW YORK, October . 21.-

James Rubinstein thinks he is a werewolf. He walks on all tours and howls like a wolf.
A werewolf was in legendary lore it is supposed to be a human who, having given
offense to some supernatural being, was
metamorphosed by the latter into the
shape of a wolf. The soul, however, retained all its human attributes, passions and desires.
Rubinstein came to this country several years ago from Germany, A week ago he began showing signs of the approach of his mysterious sickness. His wife noticed that he would frequently drop on all fours and crawl around as if in search of something. Yesterday Rubinstein crawled up to his wife and barked fiercely. Then he snarled and snapped at her, and when she fled from the room he howled like a lost soul. The frightened woman sent
for an ambulance and had her husband taken to the hospital.

And now In the present I stumbled on an article on how to be a werewolf. Make people believe you are…

Now switch to the present and you can find how to guides on being a werewolf, costumes and online groups to role play with you, almost normalizing the fascination.

The difference is he believed he was one, and the other just pretend to be one. But because of these cosplay groups, we may never know if someone actually does believe they are one…

Bigfoot in the News…Extraordinary Tales Part 2

A Strange, Strange Story…

Chilliewhack In his younger days

Charley belongs to a hamlet near.

He was known as one of the best hunters in the province and had many thrilling adventures in his time. Did he know anything about the hairy ape-like men who were supposed to inhabit the distant mountains?

The old warrior smiled, and answered that he had had a slight acquaintance with them. He had been in what he thought was one of their houses. “And that is not all .” said he. “I met and spoke to one of their women, and I shot, But let Charcley tell the story himself The strange people of whom there are but few now rarely seen

and seldom met said the old

hunter. “are known by the name of Sasquatch, or the hairy mountain men.

-The first time I came to know about these people continued the old man “I did not see anybody. Three young men and myself were picking same berries on a rocky mountain slope five or six miles from the old town of Yale. In our search for berries. We

suddenly stumbled upon a large opening in

the side of the mountain. This was discovery greatly surprised all of us, for we knew every foot of the mountain. and never knew, nor heard there was even the vicinity outside the mouth of the cave, there was an enormous boulder. We peered into the cavity but couldn’t see anything.

“We gathered some pitch wood, lighted it and began to explore. But before we got very far from the entrance of the cave, we came upon a sort of stone house or enclosure: It was a crude affair. We

couldn’t make a thorough examination. for our pitchwood kept going out. We left. We were intending to return in a couple of days and go on exploring. Old Indians, to whom

we told the story of our discovery warned us not to venture near the cave again, as it was surely occupied by the Sasquatch.

That was the first time I heard about the

hairy men that inhabit the mountains.

We, however, disregarded the advice

of the old men and sneaked off to explore the cave, but to our great disappointment found the boulder rolled back into the

mouth and fitting it so nicely that you

might suppose it had been there made for that purpose. Charley

intimated that he hoped to have enough

money someday to buy sutticient

dynamite to blow open the cave of the Sasquatch and see how far it extends

through the mountain. The Indian then took

up the thread of his story and told of his

first meeting with one of these men. A number of other Indians and himself

Were bathing in A small lake near Yule. He

was dressing when suddenly out from

behind a rock, only a few feet away stepped a nude hairy man. “Oh he was so

big man!” continued the old hunter, he looked calmer then me for moment his eyes

were so kind looking that I was about to

speak to him when he turned about and

walked into the forest. At the same place two weeks later, Charley together with several of his companions saw the giant. But this time he ran towards the mountain. This was twenty years after the discovery of the cave…

Werewolf Wednesday…

𝑾𝒆𝒓𝒆𝒘𝒐𝒍𝒗𝒆𝒔…
The idea of a being, half wolf, half man, and possessing also many demoniacal attributes, is a very curious piece of old-world superstition still to be found in very many European countries , and strengthened, no doubt, by the discovery, at times, of children who have been carried off and cared for by wolves who preferred the role of foster-mother to that of devourer —an occurrence of which there are frequent proofs on record. The wild and howling night winds, the Maruts that gave name to our too familiar nightmare, may have given the first notion of demon wolves to the trembling listener as they passed shrieking by his solitary tent or hut. As the transition of thought by which the spirit-wolf and the human form became amalgamated is easily imagined. There appears to be plenty of evidence that, at different times, a form of madness has broken out by which individuals have fancied themselves to be turned into wolves. Burton, in his ” Anatomy of Melancholy,” desoribes this disease, which he calls Lycanthropia, as ” when men run howling about graves and fields in the night, and will not be dissuaded ,that they are not wolves or some such beasts.”
-Manchester Courier, October 20, 1883

Happy Werewolf Wednesday!

Ancient Japanese ‘killing stone’ said to contain evil demon has cracked open

2022 herr we go! Now we have demons unleashed! Joking aside, this is a story I want to follow so I can see what becomes of the rock. Should they repair it, or let it remain as and where it is?

In the News…The Thylacine

Indonesian officials have posted a reward for anyone who captures a Tasmanian Tiger, a doglike striped animal that zoologists say has been extinct for at least 60 years. While there’s no scientific proof of their existence, news reports this week quoted villagers as saying that packs of Tasmanian Tigers have been killing farm animals in moonlit attacks to feed their pups. The official Antara news agency said officials in the remote mountainous interior of Irian Jaya, the Indonesian-controlled western half of the island of New Guinea, offered $670 for the first Tasmanian Tiger captured alive.

Named after their only known habitat in Tasmania, an island state off southeastern Australia, the animals have dark stripes on their backs. They raise their young in pouches like kangaroos and other Australian marsupials. Hunted mercilessly by European sheep ranchers last century, they were declared extinct when Tasmanian Tiger back on ths prowl Villagers of Irian Jaya, the Indonesian-controlled western half of the island of New Guinea, have reported packs of Tasmanian Tigers killing farm animals. The Tasmanian Tiger, also called the Tasmanian Woff, is a large marsupial native to Tasmania. Scientists believed it’s been extinct for at least 60 years. The Tasmanian is about 5 leet long with light brown fur with dark stripes across its lower back The jaws of a Tasmanian Tiger are believed to open wider than any other mammal. They raised their young in pouches like other marsupials which include the kangaroo, koala, possum, Tasmanian Devil, and wallaby. The last known Tasmanian Tiger died in a zoo in Hobart in 1936. Dozens of unsubstantiated sightings have been made in Tasmania ever since. Now New Guinean villagers claim packs of six or seven Tasmanian Tigers have been killing pigs, cats and other domestic animals during the past month. The Indonesian Observer newspaper said one Tasmanian Tiger was killed recently by villagers and sold to highway workers who ate it for dinner.

Seeing the thylacines last images from that zoo in the 30s is heartbreaking. Knowing we hunted an animal to extinction is almost unbearable. But as much as I hope they are still alive and hiding from humanity, I am very troubled about the idea of bringing them back. Their habitat is not what it once was and there is no guarantee at all they won’t be hunted mercilessly all over again.

They are beautiful creatures, and we should remember them as they were…
