Werewolf Wednesday…

“As I walk the land

My wolf beside me

My protector, my friend

Our thoughts and feelings go hand in hand

He too knows how we feel

As we look at the damaged forests

Praying it isn’t real

How can he enjoy the hunt

If there is nowhere for him to run

No prey left, only pavement under the moonlight or sun

How can there still be mysteries

If we’ve cleared as far as the eye can see

How can the untamed survive

How can we keep our wild alive

Soon we’ll care not if there is a moon In the sky

It’s hard to howl at the moon

If you cannot stop the cry…”

Forest Queen…

“In my dreams

I’m surrounded by beautiful, beautiful green

I lay down on the forest floor

I feel the pines on my skin

God if I could just do this everyday

I’d have no complaints to say

I dream I’m gazing up at the clouds

And I know I want to live this life Loud

I want to spread the message

That this is how we should live our life

No more bad days, no more anger

No more lies

Just peace, breathing in and out

The crisp air making me feel alive

Tracing the bark of the tree with my fingertips

Feel all the different patterns and all it’s scars

Running the dandelions on my chin

Like we used to do when we were kids

Smelling the wildflowers

Blocking my eyes from the sun

That one beam of light that reached the forest floor

It’s where the old me transforms

And I see everything clearly

And I know life can be more.

A real live forest queen for future folklore…”

Have a great evening…

Little Wolf…

“Little Wolf is my spirit guide; he keeps me safe and loyal.
To the pack, to my family, to my tribe;
We hunt together, moon father and I.
Moon mother watches over the pups that sleep.
While we hunt so we all can eat
I am sure the pup dreams of his time to hunt
But our pup watcher is hypervigilant.
One snapped twig, and she’s ready to fight to the death.
Because no one’s aloud to disturb the pups rest
Father Moon gives me the nod
And now the hunt is on until the dawn
I am the wolf now, we are the wolves now
Listen closely for my howl
Husband, Johnny…I hear faintly from the door
It’d time for you two to wake up now
You can be the wolves no more
It’s morning now your hunt is through
And you have work and wolf school to go too
So kiss that baby brother
Quick, come here now and kiss your mother
I will keep an eye on your sleepingbrother while you’re gone
And I’ll count the minutes while I wait for you to return “

We Are Nature…

“Have you ever found someplace so beautiful, you just had a seat and stared in awe?

You stare and think about life and what it should be

You shouldn’t go to work on Monday, you should be free

Your soul, your heart, and your mind

Free to be you, and to remember you’re one of a kind

Take a deep breath and look at all that beauty

Then dig those feet into the dirt and rise up and tell everyone you know to come here to this spot and see

See the land and the sea

See it all…see our humanity

Share some of your peace, and nature’s song

Share the knowledge that nature is inside you where it has been all along…”

Poem by me inspired by a quote by Andy Goldsworthy

I had a very relaxing hike this past Thursday. Beautiful cold and crisp walk. This was a new forest I explored and it was beautiful. I love being down at the swamps, hopefully one day bigfoot will join me…

Do you Hear what I Hear…

Do you hear what I hear?

A howl, a howl. Deeper than a growl,

That will make you run for a mile,

Yes it will make you go running for a mile…

Do you see what I see?

A bear a bear I think I saw a bear

Standing straight with hair everywhere

Yes, he’s standing straight with hair everywhere

Do you smell what I smell?

A smell. A smell

That could make you faint as well

So strong you’d have to move right along

Yes so strong you’ll be running right along

Do you hear what I hear?

A crack. A crack I heard a branch crack

Who could make a sound like that?

Yes who could make a branch crack like that?

Do you feel what I feel?

The stare. The stare…

Coming from over there,

Yes coming from way over there

Yes there is something definitely standing over there…

Do you know what I know?

Bigfoot is real. Yes he’s really really real

And he’s standing right over there

And it’s definitely not a freakin bear…

Listen to what I know…

He’s real. He’s real

It’s quite a big deal

And he’s standing out here in the snow

And you better be ready to believe if you go…

Just some holiday fun. Have a great Christmas Eve!

Lady of the Forest…

And she came with her siren song

“And she comes to us singing her siren song

To lure us out to the trees one by one

This lady of the forest

Is no true lady at all

She has a tail we can’t mention

And her back was made of bark and hollow

The men come back with no energy to stand

They are so weak now they can’t lift a hand

Oh how do we resist this siren foe

When she comes at night

Standing there baring all near the campfire glow

We’re doomed because there is nothing else we can see,

Nothing else we can know…”

I hope everyone is having a great Monster Monday, this monster, The Huldra or Lady of the Forest is from Swedish folklore,

She tempts men to the woods and drains them of their energy. She is said to have a tail and a hollow bark back.

Have an awesome evening…

Roaming Free…

Bigfoot is not just a creature

He’s not just A being caught between human and primate

He’s not just a theory made up for enjoyment

It’s not just a search it’s a way of life

To get out in nature day or night

To learn and care about the environment and all gods wild babies

We may even discover a new animal out there one day

If you do, snap a picture and leave it where it lays

This search is not a job but an adventure

The people we meet, the places we go

We have a life the other working stiffs will never know

Some may never find this peace

Never have this life stress relief

We don’t spend our time at the mall

We roam and stand under trees so tall

Bigfoot is opening a door

But don’t go in it if you’re not sure

It will change your life

Even if he’s never in your sight

You must except you may never see

For he doesn’t have to show himself to you or me

He’s living his life just as he should be

Elusive, wandering and living free

Night in the Forest…

“In the forest how do you say goodnight

Pull down the branches to cover the light

The moonshine over the pond looks so bright

The moss twinkles with dew

And there is not a sound save crickets or a whoo whoo

The nocturnal animals go for their hunt

I’ll stay right here and not interrupt

The circle of life must go on

Long after you and I and everyone are gone

So lay there and listen to the sounds of the forest

The night has a beautiful chorus

Calm and relaxing to lull us to sleep

My eyes are heavy now, I’m going to fall deep

Another dawn will come soon

And end the beautiful shine of the moon

I will rise to roam some more

Because I feel safe sleeping anywhere with a soft forest floor…”

Inspired by John Denver’s Annie’s Song

Little Girls Dreams

“A little girl with big big dreams

Who knows this world isn’t what it seems

There is magic in the forest

Magic from when the earth was young

There is magic all around

There may be a being walking next to you while you stroll downtown

And In all those spaces in between

Where only a select few have seen

There are creatures of the night

Creatures remaining out of sight

There is magic inside you too

You just need to open the door

The door in your mind that lets you see the unseen… and believe”

The Mother’s Tears…

“And so the fires kept burning

Earth’s mother cried her tears

For even she couldn’t put the fires out

He who walks the forest could not save all of nature’s creatures

He ran and ran carrying all the he could save

But as strong as he is he could not save all

Those of us for whom the fires didn’t touch

cannot relate to their pain

And the mother? She wept again

It will change the whole planet she thought before it’s all done

The smoke will come

The temperatures will rise

We will soon feel this fire

Like its right before our eyes

And the giant of all the forest

Had to also find a way to survive

Had to leave his home

Try to go unseen by man

And untouched by the flame

He knows, he knows the earth will never be the same…”
