Running With The Wolves…

“Take me on an adventure,

take me with you

I want to run, run, run

through the forest with you

Crunching the leaves as we run,

branches snapping below and above

The wind tussling my hair

Wish I had fur, wish I was there

Dodging roots and jumping fallen trees

I wish you were here to,

wish you could see

Look at me running with the pack

Don’t wait up, or turn on the porch light

Just in case I don’t want to come back

Sleeping in a pile, howling at the moon

I hope this glorious day doesn’t end to soon…”

Happy Wolfy Wednesday everyone…

Bleed…

A Tuesday Terror for you…

“Everyday I feel him…

I swear I do…

I want him so much

I need to bleed him

so he’ll feel me too…

Scratches down his back

and his blood dripping free

I love the nights

when it’s just him and me

My fangs are dropping

It’s going to begin

He’s going to feed me…

And I’m…”

I’m going to keep him and let him live…

Wild Woman…

The Wild Woman

“There are now only a few of the wild giants of the mountains,” said Charley, in his terse Indian dialect. “They are rarely seen and seldom met but some still live in the mountains around here. – here is one of my encounters. “I was hunting in the mountains and had my dog with me. One day I came out on a plateau where there were several big cedar-trees. The dog rushed up to one of the trees and began to growl and bark.”

“Looking up to see what had excited him, I noticed a large hole; I had heard the dog growling and barking and something was screaming. It sounded like my dog must be fighting a bear or something, I called to him and a moment later somewhere from deep in the trees came a voice.

Nearer and nearer came the voice and then out of the forest came a sasquatch woman. She was about seven feet tall, big built all over and her skin was as dark as mine; her long straight hair fell to her knees. She looked so big and strong that I am sure if she had laid hands on me, she could have broken every bone in my body. The wild woman and I stared at each other for a bit, frozen, then she turned and disappeared back into the tree line, I didn’t follow I just stood there frozen and surprised for a bit.”

My thoughts…

You don’t often hear tales of female squatch encounters, they must have a decent population of them as their species line is still continuing based on the number of sightings reported each year.

It is wonderful that our best piece of irrefutable proof is a film of a female Bigfoot. Amazing.

I’m fascinated with Native American encounters, and their beliefs of the species so I was happy to come across a few. Oh to be a fly on the wall a few 100 or even thousand years ago…

My Yeti and I…

“Can’t think of a better way,

to start off the day

Just sitting side by side, my Yeti and I

We could chat or just stare

Look out at the sunrise, or for a bear

My friend and I wouldn’t need words

And the language he speaks, has never been heard

I’m not worried about what we’d have in common

I’m happy just being in his presence,

it’s what I’ve always been longing

I could maybe pet his fur while he sighed

I may pinch myself to see if I’m alive

I’m not going to stay long,

or wear out my welcome

I think sitting here like this,

is something he does seldom

So thank you for your peace,

my white warrior beast

Recalling this moment is how I’ll end this day

I can’t believe it started out this way

Off to slumber now,

I can feel it pulling me down

I’ll be waiting right here, if you ever decide to come back around”

Aware…

“Just because you don’t see him,

Doesn’t mean he isn’t there

Just because you don’t see him,

Doesn’t mean he’s not aware

He’s watching and waiting and learning what makes you tick

He’s deciding if he needs a rock or a stick

Just because you don’t see him

Doesn’t mean he doesn’t see you

He’s watching and making sure you don’t see his shelter too

Just because you don’t see him

Doesn’t mean he isn’t staying alert

He’s watching and waiting and making the air heavy with his presence and stare….”

Path of the Beast

I wanted to take a second and finally get to giving a review for the new Bigfoot movie by Justin Snyder Bigfoot – Path of the Beast

I really enjoyed this movie, independent films/documentaries hold a big space in my movie heart. These guys generally put a lot on the line to get in done.

Justin Snyder wore many hats in this project. Writer, director, producer, lead actor, etc but he got this movie done, and he got it done good.

I loved the opening scene, you see these beautiful swamp shots while listening to Ron Morehead’s Sierra Sounds. Very cool. It also gives nods to David Paulides and his Missing 411.

Justin himself plays John Brandon, whose out for some revenge and closure with Bigfoot. And for the first time ever to my little ears, it’s suggested that Bigfoot, being the Apex Predator that he is, could be eating us! We’re not missing…we’re what’s for dinner!

It made me pause and think about that, could they be eating us? I mean we are out there in their turf, would it be cannibalism is the question. They are the top of the food chain out there. It’s something to think about so make sure you are safe out there.

But back to the movie, I don’t want to give to much away and spoil the plot, but I’ll say this, if you like Bigfoot films you will like this one, go check it out, it’s streaming on Tubi for free right now. So go check it out, and let me know what you think…

What You Need To Go Bigfooting…

I thought I’d start Thursday off to a quick refresher of techniques and equipment for us Bigfooters in the field….here we go!

• Look for Bigfoot prints (to me that’s size 6 or a above)

• Bring casting supplies (so you can leave them in a car)

. Bring your cellphone (to take the worst pictures even though you have a 10x Max cell)

. -Bring a backpack (so you can stuff it with so much 💩 you tip over)

. Know your wildlife sounds ( so you don’t chase a raccoon halfway to Texas)

• Bring night vision (so if a bear does 💩 in the woods you won’t miss it, then you can answer that mystery for us)

. Look behind you, (because he’s tailing you, not the other way around)

. Bring a weapon (so you can accidentally shoot Fred in the toe out there because he drives you nuts, and blame it on Bigfoot!)

. And lastly, for today anyway, bring your sense of humor because there’s a 90% chance we won’t find him out there, and we need to remember to enjoy our time (because chances are high that we are very lost and won’t find the damn car)

I should mention that Fred is a fictional character. And most of these accounts actually happened to me. And maybe happened to some of you too (except shooting Fred, please don’t shoot Fred).

Have an awesome morning everyone, hope I made you smile!

If you have a ridiculous moment out there feel free to share…

Swamp Beastie…Tale of Elmer the Elusive

This beastly tale is how legends and folklore get started. This article states that a women from Kent, Virginia was in a “state of nervous prostration” when she came across a wild beastie in her backyard. When her family went out to find it, it was gone and believed to have disappeared into the Chickahominy Swamp.

She described it as having eyes of light brown, ears like a sheep, body like a large snake with scales. You get the idea, a very scary creature or possibly even a future cryptid if we go by this description.

When the “mystery monster” that they called “The Thing that Thumped” and “Elmer the Elusive” was caught, it was found to be the most elusive and cutest Cryptid ever, the Virginia Opossum!

If you follow me at all, then you know my most favorite things are beasties large and small. And of all the wild beasties out there, I absolutely adore the Virginia Opossum. Such a sweet and gentle creature. They aren’t dangerous and their defense is well…playing possum. The don’t carry rabies ever and they rid your yards of evil ticks!

When the townspeople finally found the Opossum and family, they thought they were so cute that they decided to keep them as pets!

And the legend of Elmer the Elusive lives on today….

Upton Heritage Chamber…

When you make your sister go in the tunnel first…I wanted to highlight some adventures I had this year throughout the months of December and January. I definitely had some really interesting ones.

I’ll start with my Visit to the Upton Chamber, in Upton Massachusetts. These photos are from two days of hanging around the Chamber, luckily on the second day my sister was able to join me and was kind enough to head in there first, and using her expert scientific observation skills to decide if we should go in, she let me know that, “according to my stick….it’s to wet!”

Here’s a little info from Atlas Obscura

“Records show that that the land originally belonged to a local leather tanner, who many suspect built the chamber in the 1800s to use as a tannery. Others guess the builder could have been one of a number of farmers who lived around the land before that, who may have built the chamber to use as a root cellar or storage space.

The Upton Stone Chamber isn’t the only of its kind. It’s one of over 300 known mysterious stone chambers found across New England. Most archaeologists consider these chambers to be root cellars built by early European settlers, but others argue that they’re the ruins of Native American structures.

According to a 2015 U.S. Geological Survey, analysis of the chamber estimates its age as being built between 1350 and 1625, based on OSL Sampling. This has led some to conclude that it was built by the Nipmuc people, who lived in the area.

The cave also lies along the Great Trail, a famed indigenous trade route that went from Delaware to Canada. Despite those findings, no Native American artifacts have been found inside the Upton Chamber.”

My thoughts…

The Upton Chamber was one of my favorite historical stops. It’s amazing To sit there and wonder who was walking around here long ago. My personal belief is that it’s built by the Native Americans. Because it isn’t just the igloo style stone chamber, there are other rock outcroppings that are placed a certain way and in a certain direction that makes me believe this was quite possibly a spiritual place for them.

Now of course I’m no archeologist, obviously, but since my sister made a scientific hypothesis, I’m going to make an archeological one, according to my eyes…this is a Native American spiritual and most likely planned resting place for them. Since it’s located on the Great Trail, we know they traveled this route often, so it’s a safe assumption they may have also built this chamber.

Whatever or whoever it was used for, it’s an amazing place to stop and visit and decide for yourself who built it. But be warned it’s very dark once you get in there so bring a flashlight. It also takes in a lot of water and floods often so be prepared.

And lastly I wanted to mention that one of the most beautiful old trees I’ve ever seen is growing right around the chamber so check it out while you’re there as well.

I was Kidnapped by a Sasquatch…The Snuff Box Defense

A Port Langley man says he was kidnapped and held captive for one week by a Sasquatch Family. and was able to escape when he fed one a box of snuff.

I was Kidnapped by a Sasquatch, Snuff Box to Rescue By Bill Dunford in the Province Newspaper, May 1955

A Port Langley man says he was kidnapped and held captive for one week by a Sasquatch Family. and was able to escape when he fed one a box of snuff.

ALBERT OSTMAN, M. of 10263 McKinnon Road, told his story this week to William Roe, fin, of 5085 Pacific Highway. Cloverdale. Mr. Ostman and Mr. Roe were brought together after Mr. Ostman read of Mr. Roe’s experience in sighting a female Sasquatch as published in The Province April 23.

Mr. Ostman said he was on a prospecting trip about 75 miles north of the head of Toba Inlet ) when he was kidnapped during the middle of the night by “the old man” Sasquatch as he slept in a sleeping bag in the summer of 1924.

Pic from Look and Learn Publication

“I DIDN’T KNOW it was the old man Sasquatch at the time,” Mr. Ostman said. “All I knew is that I was being carried and that the sleeping bag was pulled so tight around my neck that I almost choked. He just slung me over his shoulder and away he went.”

He was taken to a cave-like shelter under a rock cliff where he saw an old female Sasquatch and a young male and female. The “old man” was about, seven feet tall and weighed between five and six hundred pounds. The “old lady” was slightly smaller, while the young male stood six feet and weighed two hundred pounds. The young female was about six feet tall and one hundred pounds.

Their food consisted of fruits and nuts, and no meat. Mr. Ostman said he was running short of supplies and decided be must escape from the family, although at no time did they molest or harm him. “They were definitely human, , although primitive, and seemed more curious about me than anything.” he said. “Every time I would attempt to leave though, the old man would block the way. “But one day I was taking a bit of snuff and I noticed the old man was very curious, so I handed him the tin. He just opened his mouth and emptied the tin in one gulp and was he ever sick.

“WHILE THE old man was busy being sick, I grabbed my belongings and ran as fast as I could. “I got away okay, and I wasn’t harmed a bit. But after living with them a week, I’m sure they are merely a band of Indians that have lost touch with civilization. “They don’t want to harm anyone, and don’t want anyone to harm them. My advice to anyone going out hunting for them is to just leave them alone. They probably don’t want any part of us and I don’t blame them.

“THEIR SPEECH was a sort of chattering, and even though they wore no clothing.they used blankets made of moss woven with strips of cedar bark, and they never used a fire.” Mr. Ostman agreed the female Sasquatch sighted by Mr. Roe was “quite probably” the young female of the family which held him captive, and was now grown up.

As I read this article (which I haven’t done in years), I realized he was describing this Bigfoot family exactly how I’ve always pictured them. Primitive, by not necessarily primates. More man, an evolutionary split some home. They would be in a family unit and have a unique language just like we have one.

That they may want to scare us off, but not all necessarily want to kill us. They simply want to be left to themselves. Granted being dragged off in the night in the sleeping bag is not ideal, he felt they just wanted to study him, and why not, we would do far worse to one of them. Imagine living your life while hundreds or more people are after you everyday.

For all we know their possible migration routine could be to also avoid us, not just for food sources. Yes they may want to scare us with rocks, knocking and such, but has anyone ever said they saw him snap a neck or physically attack species to species?

Maybe instead of guns or knives we need to carry snuff boxes for defense because at least we know that one works. I’ve always felt that the more passive role out there in the forest you play, less equipment, less weaponry the less you seem like a threat and the more you can relax, the more likely a chance you may have to see one. But everyone has to do their research in their own individual way, this is just how this girl does it…

It’s the way I conduct myself out there, and no, I haven’t seen one with my naked eyes yet, but I’m sure a time or two something was there, but as I always say, don’t be disappointed if you don’t get dragged off im the night in your sleeping bag half asleep, just enjoy your time out there, your peace and quiet, if it is meant to happen it will. Just keep on believing and throwing out your positive vibes to the world…
