Of all the Bigfoot encounters I’ve shared, this might be the most unique. As a Missouri man tells it, a Bigfoot ate his family’s leftovers. This will require some explaining.

Throat Singing for Bigfoot…
This was an interesting post from Reddit. You know I’ve never been fond of the yelling and knocking technique, my technique has always been to enter the woods passively.
But what about throat singing to communicate. It’s less aggressive and more mesmerizing I would think.
By the early 21st century, throat-singing was once again used to lull babies to sleep, lure wild and semidomesticated animals, help gain the favour of the spirit of the place, and summon shamanic spirits and Buddhist gods.. . -Brittanica
If throat singing can lure semi domesticated animals in, what about a bigfoot. Would this be more passive and pleasing to them?
“The primatologists at the University of St. Andrews discovered that wild gibbons in Thailand have developed a unique song as a natural defense to predators. Literally singing for survival, the gibbons appear to use the song not just to warn their own group members, but those in neighbouring areas.”—Science Daily

If primates can throat sing and humans can throat sing maybe we can break some communication barriers with this technique.
We’ve all heard Sierra Sounds, we know the communication they use there is something we can’t mimic…but what about throat singing as an in between?
It was a great Reddit post. And who knows? Get the right singer at the right location and maybe we’ll get lucky?
Have an awesome Friday everyone!
Werewolf Wednesday…

𝑾𝒆𝒓𝒆𝒘𝒐𝒍𝒗𝒆𝒔…
The idea of a being, half wolf, half man, and possessing also many demoniacal attributes, is a very curious piece of old-world superstition still to be found in very many European countries , and strengthened, no doubt, by the discovery, at times, of children who have been carried off and cared for by wolves who preferred the role of foster-mother to that of devourer —an occurrence of which there are frequent proofs on record. The wild and howling night winds, the Maruts that gave name to our too familiar nightmare, may have given the first notion of demon wolves to the trembling listener as they passed shrieking by his solitary tent or hut. As the transition of thought by which the spirit-wolf and the human form became amalgamated is easily imagined. There appears to be plenty of evidence that, at different times, a form of madness has broken out by which individuals have fancied themselves to be turned into wolves. Burton, in his ” Anatomy of Melancholy,” desoribes this disease, which he calls Lycanthropia, as ” when men run howling about graves and fields in the night, and will not be dissuaded ,that they are not wolves or some such beasts.”

Bigfoot in the News…
Snallygaster in the News…

The Evening Sun, Baltimore Maryland, 1932….
“I didn’t start it. I haven’t seen it myself. I’ve only heard about it. Even if I had seen it I wouldn’t be able to tell you what it is. I’m not an expert. I’m waiting until I hear from the National Museum at Washington…,”
— The Valley Register
Seen Last Tuesday…
The strange, strange beast was last seen here early Tuesday morning when, according to the Valley Register: “Charles F. Main, Middletown ice cream manufacturer, and Edward M. L. Lighter were frightened nearly out of their wits when the beast suddenly appeared flying over the National highway toward Catoctin Mountain, near the old White House, just east of Braddock Heights. Both state that the ‘Snallygaster’ appeared suddenly from the south and was flying not more than twenty-five feet in the air, which afforded them an excellent view of the monster. For a time, they stated, it appeared that the strange beast was headed directly toward the machine in which they were traveling, but when only about fifty feet from them it suddenly headed north toward the mountain, thus relieving them of much anxiety. Mr. Main said the beast changed color Several times, at first appearing white and then black. He said that its wing spread appeared to be between twelve and fourteen feet, and that at times it threw out long streamers like the arms of an octopus, but would then draw them in again. They thought the beast alighted in the mountain not far off the National highway, and, after waiting some time, they finally picked up enough courage to visit the point where they believed it had landed. When they arrived there, however, all traces of the monster had disappeared.

While playing on the north commons Friday evening. Junior Fulmer and “Buddy” Haupt report seeing a Strange monster flying toward Middle-town from South Mountain. The boys, however, did not wait long enough to see in which direction the beast went, for it is needless to say that they both curried to their homes as fast as their legs could take them.
The monster has also been reported as having been seen in the vicinity of Point of Rocks during the past week. Remembers One Of 1909 “I have not seen the snallygaster,” said R. Austin Stine, of Cumberland, In a long letter to the editor. “It seems to me to be of a questionable nature.” Mr. Stine added, however, that he remembered the snallygaster of 1909 and the headless calf that ran the roads at night in the vicinity of the Village of Rockville. Snallygaster Made First Boonsboro Visit Back In 1909 Boonsboro, Md Nov. 25 The water- winged, bicycling bovalopus-snally gaiter which today paralyzed the Middletown Valley’s cider industry first appeared In these parts last November 9th. Big as a dragon , it was flying low. going up and down the mountains, and when last seen, it appeared to be headed toward Harper’s Ferry. Since then, however, the strange, strange beast has been reported at Burkittsville, Braddock Heights, Middletown and Hamburg, which would seem to indicate that the monster is of a restless disposition. C. H.

Minnebraker, publisher of the Boonsboro Times weekly paper, which gave the strange, strange tale its first press notices on this side of the mountains, It was rumored the the beast had taken Mr. Minnebraker for a ride on the handle bars of its bicycle. But persons close to Mr. Minnebraker denied this. Thev said Mr. Minnebraker would be home in time for supper.

Lost Our Howl….

How long does it take you, when you enter the woods, till you feel like you’re a part of it? Till your senses have synced to what’s all around you and you notice everything? The sound of the birds singing, the click of an opossum call, the wind moving every leaf around you and branches snapping all around…”
We think, “god I need to go to the woods and chill, I need some nature!”
But you don’t have to go to nature, you ARE nature. You’re a living creature on the planet earth, we started here, in the forest, we’ll most likely end there as well. One of the worst thing we did as a species was to separate ourselves from nature. Have we ever felt wild and free like a wolf since then?
We’ve lost or howl my friends and we need to get it back….🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺
Happy Werewolf Wednesday!!
