Bigfoot Apps and Websites Series #1

So I thought we could have some fun together with another series, but in this one we’ll be checking out some of the bigfoot apps and websites out there. This first one is from the App Store. I should mention first that I have an iPhone so this app may or may not be available in google play, etc.

Okay, so this first app is the Bigfoot Search Club. When you open the app there is a menu and you can click sightings. In sightings you have the choice of clicking documented or undocumented.

From what I see documented mostly means whether or not the BFRO has it listed on their site as well. But here is one of the listed sightings from my area of the country.

“On Sunday May 4th 2008 on route 146 north bound on the right side shoulder of the Highway near where Massachusetts meet the Rhode Island border just before the exit for South Uxbridge and north Smithfield at exactly 7:02 pm with clear skies in Worcester County, Massachusetts. The area is densely wooded with a small pond in the location. The witness stated that he was driving Northbound on Interstate 146 somewhere in the early evening with his sister when off to the right near the wood line he could see something standing there that looked just like a Bigfoot creature. He said he couldn’t believe his eyes. He immediately slowed down the car to look into the wood line and the creature walked off into the wooded area. The man could only say that what he saw looked just like what they talk about a Bigfoot creature looking like. His sister said that she could only see what she thought was something that looked like a black creature walking into the woods. The man also said that it looked like a bear with black hair all over its body and light greyish hair covering its chest and walked on 2 legs easily. The man reported the incident to the authorities about what he had seen that night while driving on the Highway. A man and his sister were driving on the Highway when the man spotted what he believes to be a Bigfoot.

Now what I love about this app is it’s nice to see more reports from my search areas within the Blackstone Valley Heritage Corridor. I know they have been roaming around here , I have print casts, but unlike me, what the app doesn’t do is investigate any of the encounters. Now I can take the sighting and do some investigating because I know the area well, but I have no way to contact and interview the witness. And unfortunately in some cases the encounter stories seem extremely vague. I’m not saying they aren’t actual sightings, but the vagueness is troublesome and a red flag for me. This site could really be something if they were requiring more details or investigating them themselves.

I tried to find out more about the creators, the developer listed is Bigfoot on the Strip LLC. When trying to find the owners of that company I only came up with an amusement park of the same name or description. If you have any more information on the developers shoot me an email and I’ll at it to the post.

Apps and Websites are popping up all the time and there are also quite a few websites where you can enter your encounter anonymously or otherwise and if no one is investigating the sightings we won’t know if all the information is really true, but it’s the risk you take creating these types of sites and visiting them as well.

Happy Squatching everyone!
